Hours: 1^st shift: 5am-2pm M-F (Mandatory overtime and weekends as needed)
Pay: $70K – $75K (Depending on experience)

Summary:

This position is responsible for managing the daily allocation of resources (materials, equipment, people, and systems) to safely, efficiently, and cost effectively achieve performance targets.

Essential Functions:

Prioritize, schedule and delegate work assignments, and directly supervise, inventory control,
distribution and receiving employees to ensure the accurate, cost effective and timely delivery
and receipt of goods.
Assist in coordinating floor level workflow, visual communication and error proofing.
Schedule and manage inbound shipments, maintain accurate and timely putaways.
Ensure compliance with all safety, work rules and regulations.
Ensure the maintenance of equipment and departmental housekeeping standards.
Develop and maintain metrics and documentation that demonstrate continuous improvement of inventory controls and inventory management.
Provide back-up to Distribution Supervisor, to include working overtime and weekends as necessary.
Recommend, support and execute continuous improvement initiatives in efforts to improve the overall strategy and organization of materials storage.
Develop and maintain positive employee relations to provide support and direction to employees; participates in the hiring process, employee on-boarding and performance management.
Maintain clean and organized storage areas, complete assigned inventory control tasks, meet cycle count requirements and accuracies. Responsible for year-end inventory audit.
Track, review and effectively communicate DC objectives with team.
Coach employees in their development of knowledge and skills, providing timely feedback, guidance, and training to help them reach goals.
Ensure the development and implementation of action plans to address root causes of failures and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Facilitate seamless handoffs and communicate key information to peers, team members and all management levels as needed.
Understand internal and external regulations, procedures & policies and apply them fairly and consistently.
Safety: Ensure a safe work environment is always maintained. Complete a thorough investigation of all safety near misses and accidents. Determine root causes and develop an action plan to eliminate or mitigate the cause of near misses and other incidents.
Quality: Ensure shipment, receipts, and objectives are met including regular adherence to company’s inventory control. Actively participate in prevention and correction of quality-related errors.

Strong time management and organizational skills.
Effective problem-solving skills and decision-making abilities.
Strong Computer Skills – MRP / SAP functionality & Microsoft Office (preferred)

Education and Experience:

Minimum 5 years’ experience in materials management or distribution supervision.
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Operations Management, Business Administration, Engineering or other related field or 5 years of progressively responsible related experience.
Lean Manufacturing and/or Process Improvement work experience preferred.
Leadership success in a union environment.
