- Green Bay, WI
SALARY:
- $55,000 to $75,000/year
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and deliver comprehensive safety training programs
- Encourage employees to take personal responsibility for their actions regarding safety
- Supervise restricted duty assignments when necessary
- Address safety incidents using the Hierarchy of Controls approach
- Conduct thorough investigations until incidents are resolved
- Stay up to date with the latest safety standards and regulations
- Perform audits of safety policies, procedures, and practices
- Act as the go-to expert on safety-related matters within the facility
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement proactive safety measures based on behavior
- Lead thorough investigations to determine the root causes of incidents
- Encourage a culture of safety ownership among employees and leaders
- Identify and mitigate potential risks that may recur
- Respond promptly to reports of hazards and near misses
- Conduct comprehensive safety training sessions
- Develop effective training programs to enhance safety practices
- Communicate relevant safety metrics to employees
- Ensure proper utilization of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Accurately document all incidents in a timely manner
- Report incidents promptly and according to appropriate protocols
- Manage workers’ compensation cases
EXPECTED OUTCOMES
- Decrease in the overall recordable incident rate at our facility
- Establish and maintain an efficient safety communication dashboard
- Foster a culture of open communication and information sharing regarding near misses and hazard identification
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years of experience in a safety role within a manufacturing environment
KEY COMPETENCIES:
- Proven experience in leading sustainable safety initiatives
- Proficiency in MS Office and software for Workers Compensation Management, Injury Recording/Reporting
- Strong communication skills across all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated expertise in behavior-based safety approach
