Starting Wage: $24-$28
Location: Kaukauna, WI
Hours: 1^st Shift 6am-2pm (Monday-Friday)

Position Summary:

The painter position is responsible for priming, painting/coating primarily large steel/metal materials to customer specifications.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Paint surfaces of steel, metal, etc. parts using spray painting equipment using surface preparation and painting techniques.
• Apply a variety of coatings including epoxies, urethane, and polyurethane coatings from various paint manufactures.
• Consistently meet paint thickness requirement.
• Mix paint precisely to manufacturer and customer specifications.
• Complete necessary paperwork for each job.
• Prior to painting, clean and prepare part surfaces as specified to be contamination free.
• Inspect parts prior to paint for needed repair, prepping and cleaning.
• Mask parts to for overspray prevention.
• Hang or set-up parts prior to painting.
• Inspect parts after painting for needed repairs, proper thickness, and general appearance.
• Properly maintain paint equipment
• Utilize a wet mil gauge to ensure the correct and consistent coat is applied to product and ensure proper substrate preparation to included but not limited to looking for runs, sags, dry spray, skippers, poor blast, or extremely over sprayed parts. A light is used to check for even coverage for large surfaces.

Requirements:

• Experience with painting in an industrial setting a plus.
• Conventional and airless painting experience is a plus.
• Attention to detail.
• Experience with wet mil gauges is a plus.
• Ability to lift/move and push/pull up to 40 pounds frequently.
• Ability to pass respirator clearance.
• Ability to be on your feet for up to approximately 8-12 hours per day.
• Ability to stand on ladders, crawl, kneel, bend down, and stretch to apply coating on a varying part shapes and sizes is required.
