Wage:
$17/hr
Hours: 

  • 3rd Shift (Sun – Thurs. 11:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.)
  • 2nd Shift M-F, 3P-11P
  • 1st Shift M-F 7A-3P
Job Summary: Responsible for the timely and accurate movement of proper materials to the Bindery. The Material Handler assists in inventory of customer products; uses care and caution when handling materials, updates inventory control system when material is moved.
Responsibilities:
  • Production Manager and other internal customers to ensure that company objectives are being met
  • Set up materials for Stitcher Operators, Perfect Binder Operators, Cutter Operators, Folder Operators, and Mailroom Operators
  • Replace and remove scrap boxes throughout Bindery
  • Daily maintenance checklist for forklift
  • Read and interpret job tickets and load tags
  • Load all mail trucks properly and accurately
  • Load scrap truck with scrap boxes
  • Maintain accurate records
  • Maintain proper housekeeping
  • Remove paper bales
  • Replenish empty skids
  • Remove printed goods from presses and stitchers
  • Perform other duties as requested
  • Able to work overtime when needed
  • Follow all required Safety Procedures such as PPE’s, Ergonomics, Chemical Hazards, etc.
  • Perform job in a manner that protect the health and safety of all employees
  • Prompt and regular attendance

Requirements: 

  • Forklift experience
  • Computer knowledge
  • Good organizational skills
  • Self-directed
  • Able to work with little supervision
  • Mandatory hearing protection while in the plant
  • Mandatory safety shoes are to be worn while in the plant
  • Greater forklift traffic in Shipping and Receiving Departments
  • Forklift drivers changing LP tanks on forklifts must take extra caution with changing the tanks to prevent frost burns and eye injuries from LP gas; this requires safety glasses and gloves available on the forklifts
  • Possible hazardous waste materials handling with waste materials such as waste inks, ink jet ink and rags, blanket wash and oil
  • Lifting various mail packages either shipping out or coming into the plant at maximum of 50 lbs.
  • Temperature fluctuates depending on if trucks are being unloaded and what time of the year it is
  • Chemical exposure is low other than possible carbon monoxide exposure from forklifts
