Schedule: Monday-Friday 6:00am-4:30pm with start/end time flexibility AND/OR Monday-Friday 11:00am-7:30pm depending on business needs
Pay: $18.00-$25.00 per hour, based on experience
Job Overview
We are looking for experienced Turret / Fabrication Press Operators to join a growing metal manufacturing facility. This position will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of fabrication equipment, including turret presses, punch presses, brake presses, CNC brake presses, and other production machinery.
The ideal candidate will have previous operator and setup experience, the ability to read blueprints, and strong attention to quality and detail.
Responsibilities
- Set up, adjust, and operate turret presses, punch presses, brake presses, CNC brake presses, and other fabrication equipment.
- Install, align, and secure punches, dies, fixtures, tooling, and materials for production runs.
- Program and operate CNC brake press equipment for existing jobs as needed.
- Read and interpret blueprints, job travelers, work instructions, and customer specifications.
- Position and secure materials using fixtures, jigs, and machine controls.
- Measure and inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, rulers, and other precision measuring tools.
- Verify parts meet dimensional, quality, and customer specifications.
- Identify and report quality issues or parts that do not meet specifications.
- Troubleshoot machine, tooling, and production issues to minimize downtime.
- Complete production paperwork, inspection records, check sheets, and quality documentation.
- Maintain production rates while producing quality, defect-free parts.
- Communicate production, quality, safety, equipment, and inventory concerns to supervisors.
Qualifications
- Previous operator and setup experience required.
- Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing, fabrication, metal stamping, press operation, or related experience preferred.
- Experience operating turret presses, punch presses, brake presses, stamping equipment, or similar fabrication machinery.
- Experience with machine setup, die installation, tooling changes, and equipment adjustments.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and technical drawings.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Forklift experience is a plus.
- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience is preferred.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
