IQ Resource Group is seeking a skilled Assembly / Service Technician to join a leading manufacturer of custom commercial mixing and automation equipment. This position combines advanced mechanical assembly with field service work, allowing you to see projects through from initial build to final installation.

Assembly / Service Technician
Location: Hartland, WI (Shop-Based with Travel)
Pay: $28.00 – $34.00/hour (Based on Experience)
Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm OR 6:00am-2:00pm

Responsibilities

  • Assemble custom commercial mixers, automation systems, conveyors, motors, rollers, and related equipment from the ground up.
  • Power on, test, troubleshoot, and validate machinery performance in both shop and customer environments.
  • Travel to customer locations throughout the United States (with potential international travel) for equipment installation and startup.
  • Work directly with customer engineers, maintenance personnel, and production teams during installations.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues during assembly and commissioning.
  • Maintain high standards for quality, safety, and workmanship throughout the build process.
  • Ensure equipment is assembled and installed according to engineering specifications and customer requirements.

Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and advanced assembly experience.
  • Ability to understand and complete complex machine builds from start to finish.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Comfortable working directly with engineers, maintenance teams, and customers.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
  • Ability to travel as required for customer installations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building commercial food processing, restaurant, or industrial food equipment.
  • Knowledge of food industry sanitary standards and requirements.
  • Familiarity with GMPs, HACCP principles, contamination control, and sanitary design practices.
  • Understanding of precision fabrication, weld quality, and sanitary finishes.
