We are seeking an experienced Extrusion Process Technician with profile extrusion experience to join our manufacturing team. This is a hands-on technical role focused on troubleshooting and improving extrusion processes, testing and implementing tooling, and helping production teams achieve quality and efficiency goals. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Shift:
- 1st shift is 7am to 3pm
- Overtime: May be required to work occasional overtime (a longer day and/or Saturday) to support the production schedule. Inventory counts may also require working over the weekend.
Location: Neenah, WI
Wage: $23 to $27/hr
What You’ll Do
- Conduct trials with new and existing extrusion tooling, including dies and sizers, to ensure parts meet customer specifications
- Work with Engineering to recommend tooling and process adjustments
- Troubleshoot extrusion process and equipment performance issues
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase productivity, improve line speed, reduce scrap, and improve setup and teardown efficiency
- Develop work instructions, procedures, and documentation to support process improvements
- Assist with training and developing Production personnel on extrusion processing
- Collect and document process data for analysis and generate reports
- Clean, maintain, and prepare extrusion tooling
- Assist the Engineering Department with tasks such as polishing and grinding
- Assist Production as needed, including operating extrusion lines
- Assist Maintenance with equipment repairs when necessary
- Order parts and supplies as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Fill in for the Shift Lead when required
- Be available for occasional extended workdays and weekends
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of profile extrusion experience
- Ability to read and understand blueprints
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and follow established procedures and instructions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to operate a variety of machinery, hand tools, and precision measuring equipment
- Maintenance experience is a plus
- Ability to communicate effectively and work well with Production, Engineering, and Maintenance teams
