Position: Lead Mechanical Assembler
Wage: $26- $30
Location: Neenah, WI
Hours: 6am- 4:30pm Monday—Friday (Overtime: Would be on Friday’s, typically 4, 6-or 8-hour shifts as needed. Will likely be on OT for the next 4 to 8 weeks)
Position Overview:
This role focuses on building and assembling conveyor systems and other mechanical equipment. Candidates who do well in this position typically have strong mechanical ability, take initiative, and can keep pace in a production-driven environment. The person in this role partners with leadership across assembly, operations, and project teams to ensure equipment is built accurately and on schedule. Success in this position comes from a collaborative mindset, attention to detail, and a willingness to contribute to team-based problem solving.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble conveyor systems and custom mechanical equipment (non-assembly line environment; builds vary by project)
- Lead and support a small team of 1–3 Mechanical Assemblers
- Partner with Assembly Manager, Plant Manager, and Project Management to meet build timelines and quality standards
- Interpret blueprints, work instructions, and measurements to ensure accurate assembly
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, including drills, drill drivers, drill presses, and saws
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during the build process
- Maintain a fast, efficient pace while ensuring quality and safety standards are met
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of mechanical assembly experience (conveyor systems or custom packaging equipment preferred)
- Demonstrated job stability and consistent work history required
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with hand and power tools
- Ability to read blueprints, follow detailed instructions, and use a tape measure accurately
- Proven problem-solving skills and ability to lead in a team environment
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced production setting
- Basic computer skills (Word and Excel)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Capable of standing for the entire shift
- Frequent bending, stooping, and movement throughout the day
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred (relevant experience will be considered in place of education)
