Pay: $20.65/hr
Shift: Sun-Thursday 10pm-6am (Must train on 1st shift 6am-2pm)
The Machine Operator – Level I is responsible for producing a quality product to the customer’s specifications efficiently. The Machine Operator – Level I will also work on continuous improvements with regard to workmanship standards, standard operating procedures, and safety suggestions.
Essential Functions:
- Operate equipment to defined standards and product specification targets at Level I standards for one or more machine styles
- Perform minor machine adjustments
- Perform minor equipment repair
- Pack finished product
- Maintain established Quality standards
- o Inspect and examine bags/pouches for defects and non-conformances
- o Measure product to customer specifications
- o Proper packing quantities are fulfilled
- o Work with Quality team for non-conformances
- Troubleshoot a process or machine concern and communicate resolutions
- Accurately document and complete necessary forms
- Work with multiple teams/departments
- Maintain a clean work area
- Follow all safety and food safety regulations
- Perform other miscellaneous job duties and related functions as needed
- Competency or Position Requirements:
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos is required.
The ability to effectively communicate verbally and through written materials is essential. The ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to employees and others is necessary.
- This position requires the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in common units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. The ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and draw and interpret bar graphs is required.
- The ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form is needed. The ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations is required.
Desired Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 3 years of working experience within a manufacturing setting required.
