Job Details

We are seeking an experienced Shipping & Receiving Lead to oversee daily warehouse, shipping, receiving, and inventory operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for a strong leader who is organized, safety-minded, and experienced with material handling, inventory control, and coordinating shipments. You’ll play a key role in keeping materials moving accurately and efficiently while supporting production and maintaining excellent customer service.

Shift:

  • 1st shift is 7am to 3pm
  • Overtime: May be required to work occasional overtime (a longer day and/or Saturday) to support the production schedule.  Inventory counts may also require working over the weekend.

Location: Neenah, WI
Wage: $25 to $29/hr

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate daily shipping and receiving operations
  • Demonstrate a positive, professional attitude and provide strong leadership
  • Provide courteous and professional customer service to drivers, vendors, and internal teams
  • Safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment to load, unload, move, and stage materials
  • Receive incoming materials, components, and equipment
  • Verify quantities and inspect incoming shipments for damage, discrepancies, and quality issues
  • Compare shipment contents against manifests, invoices, packing slips, and purchase orders
  • Complete documentation related to damaged or incorrect shipments
  • Prepare packing slips, bills of lading, shipping orders, and other required documentation
  • Coordinate with carriers to arrange shipments and deliveries
  • Communicate shipment status, delays, and other relevant information with production, customer service, and management
  • Ensure inbound freight is properly inspected, documented, and delivered to the appropriate department
  • Develop and maintain inventory control procedures to improve accuracy and efficiency
  • Update inventory systems accurately and promptly
  • Conduct physical inventories and cycle counts
  • Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies and identify root causes
  • Serve as the project lead for year-end physical inventory, including planning, scheduling, and execution
  • Work with common carriers to obtain competitive freight rates and quality service
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse and shipping area
  • Follow all company safety policies and required PPE procedures
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education preferred
  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience
  • 2+ years of shipping/receiving experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment; forklift certification is a plus
  • Strong understanding of inventory control and warehouse operations
  • Experience working with ERP systems and Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational and decision-making skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Positive, professional attitude and strong customer service skills

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, reach, twist, push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including up to 8 hours
  • Ability to climb a rolling ladder up to 10 feet
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, air-driven tools, and measuring devices
  • Ability to visually inspect parts, materials, labels, reports, and shipping documentation
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift after completing required in-house certification
  • Ability to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and/or steel-toed footwear as required

Work Environment

This position works primarily in a manufacturing warehouse environment where temperatures may fluctuate and employees may encounter varying lighting, noise levels, uneven or slippery surfaces, fumes, airborne particles, and drafts from frequently opened doors. Forklifts and other heavy equipment operate throughout the facility.
