We are seeking a highly organized and dependable Tooling Coordinator to manage the day-to-day operations of the tool crib and ensure production has the tooling, materials, and equipment needed to stay on schedule. This is a hands-on role that combines inventory management, tooling preparation and maintenance, production support, and light equipment maintenance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, works well independently, and can quickly adapt when production priorities change.
Shift:
- 1st shift is 7am to 3pm
- Overtime: May be required to work occasional overtime (a longer day and/or Saturday) to support the production schedule. Inventory counts may also require working over the weekend.
Location: Neenah, WI
Wage: $20 to $24/hr
What You’ll Do
- Manage the tool crib and maintain appropriate inventory levels of tooling and production supplies
- Order materials and supplies as needed to support manufacturing operations
- Prepare and stage tooling and materials for upcoming production jobs
- Pull dies, plates, bolts, fixtures, jigs, and other tooling based on the production schedule
- Maintain daily communication with the First Shift Lead and Production Manager regarding schedules, changes, and tooling needs
- Prepare backup tooling in advance to support unexpected production schedule changes
- Receive, inspect, clean, and properly store tooling returned from production
- Work with Engineering to determine when tooling requires repair, polishing, or additional attention
- Ensure tooling is properly maintained and ready for the next production run
- Submit planned and proposed expenditures for management approval
- Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment
- Document equipment repair needs and communicate them to the Maintenance Department
- Perform light maintenance tasks as directed by Maintenance
- Assist Engineering with tasks such as polishing and grinding
- Inspect extruder screws and barrels for wear and complete required inspection reports
- Assist Production as needed, including operating an extrusion line
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Work occasional overtime, extended days, weekends, or on-call hours as needed to support production
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to operate a variety of machinery, hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Ability to plan ahead based on production forecasts and quickly respond to schedule changes
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Previous maintenance experience is a plus
- Ability to follow established instructions, procedures, and guidelines
Physical Requirements
- Ability to frequently bend, stoop, reach, twist, push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including up to 8 hours
- Ability to climb a rolling ladder up to 10 feet
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices such as calipers, tape measures, and protractors
- Ability to visually inspect tooling and equipment
- Ability to read equipment manuals, plans, reports, and other documentation
- Ability to operate a forklift after completing in-house certification
- Ability to safely handle tools, equipment, and controls
- Ability to wear required PPE
Work Environment
This position works in a manufacturing and warehouse environment where employees may encounter forklifts and heavy equipment, uneven or slippery floors, varying temperatures, drafts, fumes, airborne particles, and moderate to loud noise.
Weekend work, overtime, and on-call availability may be required based on production needs.
